Points to Observe During Installation
PPRC pipes and fittings8 items
- Pipes must be cut only with pipe shears, perpendicular to the axis.
- For direction changes greater than 30°, 45° bends should be used; metal connections must not be over-tightened, and PTFE tape should be used for sealing.
- Hard impacts can cause hairline cracks that are not visible to the eye; deformed products must not be used.
- The pipe may only be bent with hot air (≈140 °C) and must never be held in a flame. The minimum bending radius is R = 8 × d (Ø20 → 160 mm, Ø50 → 400 mm, Ø110 → 880 mm).
- Clamps must be mounted so as not to prevent expansion, and sections exposed to UV must be insulated.
- Products must be protected from sunlight and stored indoors.
- In lines at risk of frost, the system water must be drained and sections passing through outdoor areas must be insulated.
- Plastherm pipes must only be joined with Plastherm fittings.
PVC wastewater pipes and fittings8 items
- Pipes and fittings must never be heated or shaped with a flame during installation.
- Only soft soap should be applied to the seal and the socket entry surface.
- A 10 mm expansion allowance must be left at every joint.
- On long vertical stacks, one fixed point per floor should be used, with sliding clamps in between.
- In underground lines, the ground must be level and free of stones, and a fine backfill material must be laid under and over the pipe.
- A leak test must always be carried out before closing up.
- Exposed lines should preferably be painted with oil-based paint.
- Access caps should be placed at accessible points along the line.
